So many people confuse ‘freedom of speech’ with ‘freedom from repercussions for speech’. I usually encourage these people to exercise their ‘freedom of speech’ by going to a biker bar and calling the patrons a variety of racist and homophobic slurs.

That usually resolves the issue.

  People also forget that “Freedom of speech” applies only to the government infringing on your right to express yourself and that private enterprise is free to enforce their own rules as they see fit.
